The MF72 series 1.3D-15 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor specifically designed for suppressing startup inrush current in electronic devices. Its rated zero-power resistance is 1.3Ω ± 20%, tested at 1.5VDC at 25°C. A material constant B value of 2600K ± 10% ensures stable temperature response, and a low residual resistance of 0.071Ω reduces steady-state losses.
A thermal time constant of 86 seconds and a dissipation factor of 18mW/°C create a combined performance of 1548mJ/°C, providing high surge resistance and supporting a maximum steady-state current of 8A. It is suitable for capacitive loads of 820μF in 240V systems or 3300μF in 120V systems.
The thermistor has a diameter of 17.5mm, a thickness of 6mm, and lead spacing of 10/7.5mm. It utilizes a phenolic resin encapsulation and CP wire leads. Available in four configurations: inner lead, outer lead, side lead, and straight lead.
With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 200°C, it is suitable for converters, switching power supplies, electronic ballasts, cathode ray tubes, and high-power lighting equipment.
