The MF72 series 1D-15 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor designed for high inrush current suppression applications. Its rated zero-power resistance is 1Ω ± 20%, tested and calibrated at 25°C and 1.5VDC.
The material constant of 2600K ± 10% ensures consistent temperature response. After power is applied, the resistance rapidly drops to 0.067Ω residual resistance. It supports 8A steady-state operation and is suitable for high-capacitance loads of 820μF in 240V systems or 3300μF in 120V systems.
Thermal characteristics include an 18mW/°C dissipation factor and an 86s thermal time constant, with a product of 1548mJ/°C, providing high surge resistance. The enlarged design features a diameter of 17.5mm and a thickness of 6mm. The phenolic resin package features 0.75mm CP leads with optional 10mm or 7.5mm lead pitch. Four lead configurations are available: inward bend, outward bend, side bend, and straight lead.
Optimized for switching power supplies, high-power UPS, and industrial heating equipment, it operates in a temperature range of -40°C to 200°C. Tested for 1000 cycles at 8A and 1000 hours of full-load durability, it meets the rigorous requirements of 40°C/93%RH humidity and heat environments, ensuring long-term reliable operation in heavy-load scenarios.
