The MF72 series 2.5D-11 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor designed for efficient surge suppression in high-inrush current scenarios. Its rated zero-power resistance is 2.5Ω ± 20%, and when tested at 1.5VDC at 25°C, its residual resistance is as low as 0.1Ω. Its material constant B value is 2700K ± 10%.
The device offers a maximum steady-state current capability of 5A and supports large capacitive loads of 680μF in 240V systems or 2700μF in 120V systems. Its thermal characteristics, including a 14mW/°C dissipation factor and a 50-second thermal time constant, yield a product of 700mW·s/°C, providing exceptional surge resistance.
The compact design features a maximum diameter of 13mm and a thickness of 5.5mm, housed in a phenolic resin package with 0.75mm diameter CP leads. Four mounting configurations are available: inward-curved, outward-curved, side-curved, and straight-curved leads to accommodate various PCB layout requirements.
The operating temperature range covers -40°C to +175°C and is designed for use in harsh environments such as high-power switching power supplies, industrial inverters, motor drives, and high-power lighting systems.
