The MF72 3D-15 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor designed specifically for suppressing power-on inrush current in electronic devices. Its rated zero-power resistance is 3Ω ±20%, tested at 1.5VDC and 25°C. A material constant B value of 2600K ±10% ensures linear temperature response, and a residual resistance of 0.075Ω optimizes steady-state efficiency.
A thermal time constant of 86 seconds and a dissipation factor of 18mW/°C yield a combined thermal capacity of 1548mJ/°C, providing high surge resistance and supporting a maximum steady-state current of 7A. It is compatible with capacitive loads of 820μF for 240V systems or 3300μF for 120V systems.
The 17.5mm diameter, 6mm thickness, and 10/7.5mm lead spacing are available in a phenolic resin package with 0.75mm CP wire leads. Four lead configurations are available.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 200°C and it is designed for UPS power supplies, medical equipment power supplies, and industrial control systems.
