The MF72 Series 3D-20 is a power-type, directly heated negative temperature coefficient thermistor designed to provide reliable inrush current suppression when electronic devices are powered on. This device has a rated zero-power resistance of 3Ω ±20% at 25°C, tested at 1.5VDC. Its material constant B value of 2600K ensures consistent performance over a wide temperature range. This thermistor can carry a maximum steady-state current of up to 10A, features a dissipation factor of approximately 20mW/°C, and a thermal time constant of approximately 80 seconds, making it excellent at handling high transient currents. It can support a maximum capacitive load of 1000μF in 240V systems or 4000μF in 120V systems, demonstrating strong circuit protection capabilities. The MF72 Series 3D-20 offers a low residual resistance of 0.045Ω, a maximum diameter of 20mm, and a maximum thickness of 6.5mm, ensuring a compact design. It also features a wide operating temperature range, from -40°C to +200°C.
This product is encapsulated in phenolic resin and features CP wire leads. Available in various lead styles, including inward-curved, outward-curved, side-curved, and straight leads, it is widely used in high-reliability applications such as switching power supplies, UPS systems, electronic ballasts, and various heating equipment.
