The US3AC-US5AC SMC series are high-efficiency surface-mount rectifier diodes in an SMC package, optimized for high-density power supply designs. They cover reverse voltage ratings from 50V to 1000V. The US3 series supports an average rectifier current of 3A at a junction temperature of 125°C, while the US5 series increases this to 5A. Peak surge currents reach 90A and 120A, respectively, and can withstand an 8.3ms half-sine wave surge. The glass-passivated chip junction ensures high reliability, with a typical forward voltage drop of 1.0V and a reverse leakage current of only 5μA at a rated voltage of 125°C. The devices are housed in a low-profile package with a maximum height of 2.62mm and a weight of 0.22g, making them compatible with automated assembly processes. An optimized heat dissipation design results in a thermal resistance of 45°C/W for the US3 series and 35°C/W for the US5 series, tested on a standard 5×5cm copper pad.
The operating temperature range spans the harsh environment of -55°C to +150°C, and a reverse recovery time of 75ns effectively reduces switching losses. The entire series complies with EU RoHS 2011/65/EU regulations and is MIL-STD-750 military standard welding certified. It is suitable for half-wave rectification circuits with resistive or inductive loads. Capacitive loads require a 20% current derating. Typical applications include high-efficiency switching power supply bridge rectifiers, DC/DC converters, industrial control systems, and uninterruptible power supplies.
