The MF72 series 10D-9 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor specifically designed to suppress startup inrush current in electronic devices. Its rated zero-power resistance is 10Ω ± 20%, and its initial high-resistance state effectively limits capacitor charging current.
After self-heating, the resistance rapidly drops to a residual value of 0.46Ω, significantly reducing steady-state power consumption. The device's material constant, B, reaches 2700K ± 10%, ensuring consistent temperature response. A thermal time constant of approximately 35 seconds and a dissipation factor of approximately 11mW/°C (a product of 385mW·s/°C) provide high surge protection.
It supports a maximum steady-state current of 2A and is compatible with capacitive loads of 150μF in 240V systems or 560μF in 120V systems. The compact package, with a diameter of 11mm and a thickness of 5.5mm, utilizes phenolic resin and CP wire leads.
With a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +175°C, it is suitable for high-reliability applications such as switching power supplies, UPSs, and heating circuits. Four pin configurations are available: inward bend, outward bend, side bend, and straight pin, compatible with diverse PCB layout requirements.
