The MF72 7D-15 is a directly heated, power-type negative temperature coefficient thermistor designed to effectively suppress inrush current during startup of electronic devices. Its rated zero-power resistance is 7Ω ± 20%, tested at 1.5VDC at 25°C. Its material constant B value of 2800K ± 10% provides excellent temperature response accuracy, and its low residual resistance of 0.173Ω significantly reduces steady-state power consumption. A thermal time constant of 86 seconds and a dissipation factor of 18mW/°C yield a thermal capacitance of 1548mJ/°C. It offers industry-leading surge protection and supports a maximum steady-state current of 5A. It is suitable for high-capacity filter circuits with a 680μF filter in 240V systems or a 2700μF filter in 120V systems. This device features a 17.5mm diameter wafer, 6mm thickness, 10mm/7.5mm lead pitch, a phenolic resin package, and 0.75mm CP wire leads. It offers four lead configurations: inward-curved, outward-curved, side-curved, and straight.
With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 200°C, it is suitable for high-surge applications such as industrial UPS power supplies, high-power medical equipment, and precision display systems.
