The RS2AB-RS3AB SMB series are surface-mount fast-recovery rectifier diodes featuring a compact SMB package and glass-passivated junction technology, optimized for high-power density designs. The RS2AB-RS2MB supports an average rectification current of 2A at 125°C, while the RS3AB-RS3MB increases this to 3A. They cover a reverse voltage range of 50V to 1000V. At 25°C, they offer a low reverse leakage current of only 5μA, a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.3V at 1A, and a low reverse recovery time of 150ns, based on an I/F = 0.5A test condition. The RS2 series can withstand a peak surge current of 60A, while the RS3 series can withstand a peak surge current of 90A, using a single 8.3ms half-sine wave.
The entire series complies with EU RoHS directives, with a thermal resistance of 60°C/W for the RS2 series and 48°C/W for the RS3 series, tested on a 5×5cm copper pad. The maximum package height of 2.44mm and weight of 0.098g optimize space utilization. Operating temperature range: -55°C to +150°C. Suitable for half-wave rectification circuits with resistive or inductive loads, capacitive loads require a 20% current derating. The devices are solder certified according to MIL-STD-750 standards. Typical junction capacitance is 28pF for the RS2 series and 40pF for the RS3 series, tested at VR = 4V. These devices provide a reliable solution for high-frequency, high-power applications in photovoltaic inverters, high-current motor drives, and high-density power modules.
