The SMA packaged series of ultra-fast recovery diodes is designed for compact power systems. Covering reverse voltage ratings from 50V to 600V, the ES1 series supports an average rectified current of 1A, while the ES2 series increases to 2A. Peak surge currents reach 30A and 50A, respectively, and they can withstand an 8.3ms half-sine wave surge. Glass-passivated junction technology ensures high-temperature stability, resulting in a typical forward voltage drop of 1.0V and a low reverse leakage current of 5μA at 125°C. The devices are housed in a low-profile 2.2mm package and weigh 0.055g, making them suitable for space-constrained designs.
Offering excellent thermal management, the ES1 series offers a thermal resistance of 75°C/W, while the ES2 series is optimized to 60°C/W, tested on a compact 2.54×2.54cm copper pad. An ultra-fast reverse recovery time of 35ns effectively improves switching efficiency, while a low junction capacitance of 15pF reduces EMI. The entire series complies with EU RoHS directives and is MIL-STD-750 solder certified. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to +150°C, making it suitable for half-wave rectification of resistive or inductive loads. Driving capacitive loads requires a 20% reduction in current capability. Typical applications include space-sensitive scenarios such as LED driver power supplies, portable device charging modules, and automotive electronic systems.
