The SMAF packaged series of ultra-fast recovery diodes is designed specifically for high-frequency switching power supplies. Covering reverse voltage ratings from 50V to 600V, the series features the ES1 series supporting an average rectified current of 1A, the ES2 series increasing to 2A, and the ES3 series reaching 3A. Peak surge currents reach 30A, 50A, and 80A, respectively, and can withstand an 8.3ms half-sine wave surge. Glass passivation ensures device reliability, with a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.68V and a reverse leakage current of only 5μA at rated voltage at 125°C. The devices feature an industry-leading ultra-thin package with a maximum height of 1.2mm and a weight of only 27mg, making them suitable for precision SMT production lines. Thermal resistance has been significantly improved, with the ES1 series achieving 80°C/W, the ES2 series reducing this to 65°C/W, and the ES3 series achieving only 50°C/W. Tests are performed on a standard 5×5cm copper pad.
An ultra-fast reverse recovery time of 35ns effectively suppresses high-frequency oscillations, while a junction capacitance as low as 15pF reduces switching noise. The entire series complies with EU RoHS 2011/65/EU regulations and is MIL-STD-750 military standard weld certification. It is suitable for half-wave rectification circuits with resistive or inductive loads. Capacitive loads require a 20% reduction in current capability. Typical applications include secondary rectification in AC/DC converters, communication power modules, automotive electronic systems, and other high-switching frequency applications.
