The SMB package series of ultra-fast recovery diodes is designed for medium- and high-power switching circuits. Covering reverse voltage ratings from 50V to 600V, the ES2AB series supports an average rectified current of 2A, while the ES3AB series increases this to 3A. Peak surge currents reach 60A and 90A, respectively, and they can withstand an 8.3ms half-sine wave surge. Glass passivation ensures high-temperature stability, resulting in a typical forward voltage drop of 1.0V and a reverse leakage current of 5μA at rated voltage of 125°C. The devices are housed in a compact 2.44mm package weighing 0.1g, making them compatible with industrial SMT production lines.
Continuously optimized for thermal performance, the ES2AB series boasts a thermal resistance of 60°C/W, while the ES3AB series is reduced to 50°C/W, tested on a standard 5×5cm copper pad. Ultra-fast recovery of 35ns significantly improves switching efficiency, while the 40pF junction capacitance balances high-frequency performance with EMI suppression. The entire series complies with EU RoHS regulations and is MIL-STD-750 soldering certified. The operating temperature range covers extreme environments from -55°C to +150°C, and it's suitable for half-wave rectification topologies with resistive or inductive loads. Driving capacitive loads requires a 20% derating of the current capability. Typical applications include reliability-critical scenarios such as industrial power modules, new energy charging stations, and server power systems.
