The SMF5.0A must be linearly derated above 25°C ambient. At 75°C, the effective power rating is approximately 90% (180W); at 100°C, approximately 80% (160W); at 125°C, approximately 50% (100W). At 150°C junction temperature, the available peak pulse power decreases to near zero. Design engineers operating in elevated temperature environments should apply appropriate derating factors based on the expected worst-case ambient temperature.
